A 2nd generation entrepreneur. 10 years of hardcore industrial R&D after postgraduation, followed by 10 years of executive responsibilities as the Managing Director of Aartech. He chose to do the unenviable task of churning out a business plan in 2 days for submission. What helped was that Aartech had been nurturing intrapreneurs for over a decade and a blueprint for an Aartech Startup Hub was already in place. Besides, a network of like minded friends and professionals could readily be connected for this interesting initiative.

ASHOKA FELLOW
A social entrepreneur and Ashoka fellow who founded and runs a social innovations lab, OASIS (Organisation for Awareness of Integrated Social Security), which Amit volunteers with. The idea of incubating social entrepreneurs was also under development at OASIS. It was natural to strike a collaboration and bring in the social entrepreneurship domain knowledge and experience into the mix.

A 1st generation entrepreneur – he had interned with Aartech during his MBA days and knew of its entrepreneurial culture. His company DRMZ SYSTEMS INNOVATION Pvt. Ltd. works in the field of Embedded System Solutions and as an Educational Service Provider and collaborates with Aartech on industrial projects. The initiative kicked off when he came into Aartech’s office , and advocated apply DRMZ ing to the AIM initiative to setup startup incubators. The application deadline was only 2 days later.
Pramod Maithil

FOUNDER - PRAKRITI INITIATIVES
An education professional and founder of Prakriti Initiatives. Developed the concept of Tinkering Lab (T-LAB) based on a Natural Learning Model which he has formulated and an author / TedX speaker on this subject. Tinkering and innovation go together, and with a first hand startup experience; it was natural to explore this venture together. Amit’s kids were a regular participant in T-Labs over many years and hence with a good understanding of each other’s work, a quick association was easily struck on this project.

An industry professional turned academician - earlier as Principal, SISTEC; and currently as Director, Oriental College. Manish and Amit were together in the same class during secondary schooling at Campion, Bhopal and enjoyed a long affectionate friendship. An academic partner working and facilitating students in technology matters was clearly a great enabler towards startup initaitives.

Last but hardly the least – the founder and chairman of Aartech. A 1st generation die-hard entrepreneur – the idea of nurturing technology based entrepreneurs out of local talent has always been a zealously pursued initiative over several decades. A willingness to commit a significant proportion of Aartech’s reserves towards setting up a startup incubator with its inherent business risks and challenges demonstrated the courage of conviction behind his entrepreneurial dreams.
Advisory Board
From time to time, a select team of people come together for AIC-Aartech’s Advisory Board deliberations. The founding team are the de-facto members of this advisory board unless they choose to retire from it. The advisory board reviews AIC-Aartech’s functioning and provides strategic feedback and constructive suggestions to AIC-Aartech’s Board of Directors for their review and consideration. These are duly deliberated in AIC-Aartech’s Board Meetings and policy guidelines are recommended to the CEO for operations.

Board of Directors
As per guidelines stipulated under the MOA between NITI AAYOG and M/s Aartech Solonics Limited, the Board of Directors (BOD) of AIC-Aartech is chaired by the head of the host institution, M/s Aartech Solonics Limited. The BOD meets quarterly to review the progress of AIC-Aartech and provides policy guidelines for the operation of AIC-Aartech to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
